Tennessee May 2008 Part 1

Going back in time just a bit...On May 1 we headed to Tennessee to see Craig's graduation from Cleveland State Community College and for his 20th Birthday Celebration (even though he just actually turned 20 this past Wed). There are SO MANY photos that I am breaking them down into 2 or 3 blogs. I've had terrible luck in the past with trying to post tons on photos on one blog and end up loosing many hours of work, ugh. So here goes for TN Part 1.

Hooper is now a seasoned air traveler. This is his 3 time to fly on a plane and he's a real pro! He LOVES his Daddy's rolling brief case. Every night when Dee comes home from work he has to play with it...even before giving Dee hugs. See the poor little plant behind the luggage....Hooper decided on more than once instance to taste test it. Apparently it tasted good!

He likes to look out the window. I guess he gets that from me. I always prefer the window seat and Dee always wants the isle. Opposite do attract...but this works out very well for us!

Dee dropped us off with the luggage while he went and parked the car in off site parking (much cheaper). During this time Hooper decided to take a tour of the airport.
Aunt Donna and Frances (Mamaw) were waiting for us at the TN airport and boy oh boy were they excited to see Hooper. I think they could have cared less if Dee and I came or not, ha!

On to MaMaw and PaPaw's house. Hooper immediately had to go exploring and scope the place out. Let's just say he gave them a lesson in "Hooper proofing!" On one of his many discoveries he found weights so he thought he's stop and work out a little while. You know muscle tone is very crucial in 10 mos olds!

I missed it, but Dee said at one time he was actually lifting the weights.

Oh the fireplace! There were two pulls that hung to the right and he thought they were just for him! Also the hearth was about 1 foot off the ground...perfect climbing height.

Gibson!!! Some of you may not know but Gibson went to live in TN with Mamaw and Papaw about a month ago. Hooper just liked to grab him and his tail too much and let's just say that Gibson, as much as he loved Hooper, he did not like the grabbing. So as much as we hated to, we had to part with him. But boy is he getting spoiled by Mamaw and Papaw! They have two huge glass windows at the front of the house and Hooper loved looking out them and banging on them. Sorry Frances for all the little "Hooper prints."
I just thought this was cute of him crawling on the wood floor. He liked the sound of him crawling on it I think.
More Aunt Donna lovin'!

This is cute....Dee, Hooper and Gibson all taking naps together one day.
MaMaw challenged Hooper to a crawl off....he won! But she had a blast!
Donna was playing ball with Gibson and Hooper...I just don't know where Gibson is in this shot.
There was a space just big enough for Hooper to crawl between the chair Uncle David is sitting in and the glass doors. And Hooper was drawn to it like a moth to a flame! Good ol' Aunt Donna kept having to wrangle him out of there.Hooper wanted Mamaw to join in on the fun, playing ball with Gibson.
The power went out while we were there so Dee decided to play a little flash light game with him.
Nothing feels better after a long day of traveling than a good ol' bath in the sink.Hooper did sleep in a Pack N Play but in the mornings he'd end up in bed with us. Have I mentioned his fascination with pillows? He LOVES them! Here's my boys being lazy together.
Hooper still giving the soft pillow some lovin'.
I love this family!
This looks like a guilty look or what?
Oh how he missed Gibson's fluffy tail! Actually we all did!
You can't see it but Gibson has the tennis ball in his mouth trying to play keep a way from Hooper.
He's discovered if he plays with his lips while making sounds, it really sounds funny!

This is a picture of Aunt Donna and Uncle David's house taken from Mamaw and Papaw's back porch. I just wanted to show how beautiful their house is and how close they live. This is the back side, imagine how pretty the front is! Just beautiful!!!
The weather was so beautiful that we sat outside on the porch a lot! I'm not sure who enjoyed this more, Hooper or Papaw.
Gibson and Dee reunited.
As usual Hooper is mezmorized by Uncle David's bald head.
Oh sweet Aunt Donna. Every meal whether Donna was eating with us or not, she would come over to hold Hooper and feed him. Dee and I both got to enjoy meals together...I can't remember the last time this happened! Thank you again Aunt Donna! Oh and this is Hooper's first time to experience Mamaw's famous mashed potatoes. He's hooked just like the rest of us are.
My other baby! Bless his heart, he was so tired the first day or two of this trip. There's nothing like napping at Mom and Dad's house!
Looks like Hooper talked Papaw into swinging again. If I were a betting woman I bet he's telling Hooper a good story!
Two of my favorite men! I married into such a wonderful family!!!
This bench Hooper is sitting on was Craigs when he was little.
Of course Hooper immediately had to turn it over to see how it's put together and how it works.
Notice the towel over the magazine rack? We had to quickly Hooper proof their house. It was so pretty before we got a hold of it!

This is at Papaw's shop. Uncle David stopped by to harass Hooper. Check out the couch Dee and Hooper are sitting on. It was Don and Frances' couch when Dee was born.
Hooper had to drive Papaw's new truck "Big Red." It looks like he's crying but he's actually screaming with joy!
He's such a boy. Already he loves to drive.
It's tickle time!
That's all for Part 1. Hopefully Part 2 will follow shortly.

Mother's Day 2008

Happy Belated Mother's Day 2008 to ALL you Mothers! It seems we have been traveling somewhere non-stop lately, but finally we are home for a while! Praise God! Although we had a BLAST every where we went! Once again it will take me a while to post all the pictures but I'm going to have to start with the most recent first. Also there are sooooo many Tennessee photos to go through, it could take forever just doing that blog! So here's some photos from Mother's Day this past weekend.
We went to Blossom to have Mom's Day with my family. I don't know if I've mentioned or not, but most of you know already that we bought a new van! Well not new, slightly used, but it's new to us! Here's Hooper listening to the DVD while on the trip. He still has to face backwards for now so he can't see the screen but Dee could not resist trying the headphones on him.
Who knew they tasted so good? You can't see it but he now has 8 teeth and is working on his top molars as we speak! Unfortunately you will not see many "Hooper pictures" after these because for some reason he felt terrible Sunday. This is how he spent most of his day, out on his Daddy's chest. Oh did I mention he now says "Dada." Although he has no idea what he's saying. Still we love it!! Especially Dee!
Here's me with my brothers and my parents.
Mom and her babies!
MeMaw (my Mom's mom) moved to Blossom last month ON MY BIRTHDAY up from Houston and we are so HAPPY!!!! Here are two of my favorite women!
All the "Mom's" together celebrating! Some more of my favorite women!
Since the weather was so nice we sat outside by the pond after lunch. Here's John David with my newest cousin Maggie James. She and Hooper are only 2 1/2 months apart.
Maggie's sister, Kaytie Jane is getting some help fishing from her Dad, Ryan.
Please excuse the finger in the top left corner. I did not notice it until it's already posted. Here are my Aunt Connie Kay, Uncle John John, and cousins Kristi and Marla.
The Brooks Clan!
Even outside Hooper wanted to lay on Dee's chest. My poor little man! Thank God for Daddy's chest!!! What a wonderful Daddy Dee is!
Ma with her babies!
MeMaw with her first and second born (she had 9, yes 9 children).
Here's my other favorite woman!
Kaytie Jane caught several fish. If not the same one over and over, ha! She had a blast!!!
Everytime Kaytie Jane caught a fish the camera's came flying out. Look at these two proud women! Nothing like the love of a Nana and a Great Aunt Sue-Sue. For all of you in Houston reading this....look how HAPPY MeMaw is here! You had her long enough, it's our turn to enjoy her now!!! We promise to treat her like gold!!!
I just wonder what is so funny????
Oga and Evan playing a game of checkers. I would not trust either of them two!! Dad definitely looks like he's up to something.
My Uncle Doug, Aunt Diana, and cousin Danae.
Connie Kay getting some sweet Maggie lovin'.
The wind was a little chilly so Maggie needed a little covering. Nothing like camo to warm a girl in a pink bow and clogs.

Back at home Monday Hooper was mezmorized with Dee's "tower of power" (all his entertainment equipment). He was determined to get his little hands on all those pretty lights!
I've always managed to keep him out of that corner with blockades, but he's figured out how to get past them now. He made it!
Who could punish that face and determination? This is how we found him at 6:00 this morning. He's fallen in love with pillows. This one I keep wedged in the corner of his crib because he use to get his head stuck in there in the middle of the night. Well the last two nights he's pulled it out of the corner and slept on it.
I swear I see angel wings on his back!!!
No wings here! After a diaper change in the floor yesterday he decided he wanted to streak a while! One sock and no pants. That's a look not just anyone can pull off!
Boys will be boys!
We hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! I know I did!!
