Tennessee part 2

Christmas in Tennessee continues....

One of my favorite things to do while in Tennessee is shop for shoes. Not because they're high on fashion in TN but because of my favorite store...Becky's Shoes. My sister-in-law introduced me to Becky's on my first trip ever to TN and I've been in love ever since. Just another reason I married Dee, ha! Anyhow Becky's is this hole in the wall store that carries shoes that were used in catalogs, run way style shows, used for displays etc... and they're dirt cheap! Dee has never went to Becky's with us and just didn't understand my love for the place. Well he was in desperate need for shoes and I told him to wait until we get to TN and I'd take him to Becky's. Well even though he was a bit skeptical he held off and waited. And boy did he hit the jack pot. He got all these shoes for the price he'd pay for just one pair here in Dallas. Does he look happy or what? Sorry for the long description of this picture but I just could not resist. Now Dee looks forward to future trips to Becky's! Praise God!!!
Dee modeling some of his new shoes.

One night Donna showed up just before bedtime just so she could get some Hooper lovin' since she had not seen him all day. She'll kill me for posting this but she's just too cute in her attire! Sorry Donna! We love you!!

As you can see Dee's tickled and is playing Vanna White.

Hooper didn't mind her attire at all. He loves her no matter what!

Pappaw loves to make Hooper laugh! and Hooper loves it!!!

Check out the faces on Pappaw AND Donna. What we will do to get a smile out of this little guy!Now it's Donna's turn to be Hooper's entertainment.

Craig is in bad need of a hair cut here. Later this night he gets one from Mammaw. But check out this do! Tonight is definitely a night of high fashion at the Harris House. I love this family! Hooper wanted to sport his overalls while in TN and he looked quiet handsome if I must say so myself. Check him out kicking his feet up on his football while hanging out in his pack'n'play.

This is Mammaw's first time to feed Hooper a bottle. She's a natural! Oh how Hooper enjoyed it!
Some how Hooper always is able to get Pappaw to smile! These two are quiet the pair!
These next pictures are of Hooper and Gibson playing together. There is just something about a boy and his dog. We were so worried about Gibson when we were pregnant, but he's fallen in love with Hooper just like the rest of us. They're best friends.

Gibson wants Hooper to play ball with him so badly! He just does not understand why Hooper will not throw it for him to chase.
Even when Hooper grabs a handful of hair Gibson doesn't freak out.
Where'd Gibson go?
It's time for the boys to go night night after a long day of playing.
Asleep at last. Don't worry, Hooper did not sleep with us. He just likes to snuggle a little at night and in the mornings.

That's all for Tennessee part 2. Believe it or not there is STILL more to come. I'll eventually get them all posted. Bear with me! Thanks again for following the life of our little man!

Christmas in Tennessee with the Harris'

Not only is this Christmas in Tennessee, but it's also Hooper's first trip to TN! And what a wonderful time we had. There are SO many photos I'm going to have to make a couple different blogs. This post is the day we had Christmas dinner and opened ALL the presents. Brace yourself for not only the cutest baby in the world but there are a ton of pictures!
Does he look happy or what? Oh how I love this baby!!! God is so good!

Now I know this will come as a surprise to most of you, but Hooper's Aunt Donna thinks he's pretty special! And from the looks of his face, I think the feeling is mutual!
Oh Aunt Donna, you're so fun to play with!

Mammaw and Pappaw gave Hooper a big boy car seat for Christmas. He has so much room now to play. Thank you so much!!!! It sure made the trip back to Texas much nicer for him!

One of Hooper's favorite things to do in TN is sitting in Pappaw's chair with him. It is just so comfy that he can't stay awake.
Hooper gave Mammaw a picture of himself and on the opposite side is his hand and foot print. We didn't mean to make her cry but we did nonetheless. Mammaw and Pappaw also gave Hooper this dump truck with HUGE lego blocks in it. So far he thinks it's only to chew on. Hopefully some day he'll figure it all out.
Does anyone remember the cartoon character Ziggy? He looks like him here.
Don gave Frances a computer for Christmas and she was THRILLED! Can you tell? Yesterday Hooper received an e-mail from her. She said it was her first e-mail to ever send. Hooper was honored!
Uncle David and Gibson spend a lot of time together when we're in TN. They seem to have a lot in common....lying on the couch, chillin'.
Gibson will even pose for him to take pictures. I must learn his tricks!
Mammaw getting some Hooper lovin'.

Craig was wanting to open presents so badly that he washed dishes. I had to get a picture of this, I think it's a first! ha!!!
He got a new video camera first present he opened so he could record everyone opening their presents.
Hooper once again trying to eat his presents instead of playing with them. Oh well, at least he's having fun!
These next two pictures are so funny. Believe it or not he was sitting on Dee's leg then he'd just stand up by himself, over and over and over. Yes I know, he's brilliant!

When Dee and I weren't looking, Pappaw gave him a bite of banana pudding. Oh my was that good!
Gibson gets a little spoiled in TN (as we all do). Craig plays ball up and down the hallway with him continuously and he loves it!
Santa baby!
Yes it was another "slim" Christmas, ha!
Gibson LOVES Pappaws chair too! But he wants to play with Hooper and sit with Pappaw...what's a dog to do?
Hey Uncle David...I have more hair than you do! But what is that thing on your chin?
After much begging, we finally got Craig to play the guitar for us. He is so talented!!!
My two Tennessee boys sporting their orange! I would hate to think what we would do without that wonderful Exersaucer!
Dee is so tickled here and I can't remember why to save my life! Sorry it's a bad exposure, but I just couldn't resist.
Hooper is not letting me pack because he wants to stay in Tennessee. That's all folks for now. I'll be posting more TN pictures soon.

Christmas 2007 with the Mayes'

Happy 2008! My, my where has the time gone? Hooper turned 6 months old on January 5 and is still the happiest baby in the world! Some of his new accomplishments are: sitting alone, sleeping all night (most nights), eating cereal, fruits and orange/yellow veggies, splashing in the bath tub, grabbing toys to play with, grabbing anything in sight (hair, skin, mouths, eyes, ears, etc....) and he has quiet the grip for a little one, oh and let's not forget our Thanksgiving present....2 bottom teeth. He's changed so much since the last blog! No my camera is not broken...I actually now have 2 thanks to Dee. He gave me a new one for Christmas, nice and small just for the diaper bag. And no, our computer has not been broken....we've just been on the go a little over the holidays. But now life is calming back down and we're getting back to our normal routine...whatever that is! Anyhow here's Hooper's latest blog for your enjoyment. Thanks again for stopping by and enjoying his growth with us!

I'm going to post our Family Christmas blogs seperately since there are so many photos. This first one is Christmas with my family, the Mayes'.
The Mayes Family Christmas photo.

Back row: My niece Amber, her boyfriend Cody, my brother Randy, Dee, my Dad (Hooper's Aut), my Mom (Hooper's Sue-Sue) and my brother Chris. Sitting: My sister-in-law Kristi, my great-niece Kinslee sitting in her lap, my niece Haley, me, and of course Hooper. It was a little cold out so I made him wear a hat. Not that fashionable, but it was warm.

We put a Santa hat on Hooper and had a little photo shoot. Look at that sugar dripping off his chin!
Check out those two teeth! Is he cute or what???
It looks like Hooper be-headed Santa but he didn't. There are 2 seperate dolls. Just the way the picture was taken makes it look funny.
Hooper giving his Memaw (my grandmother and where he get's his Haywood name from) sugar.

Ok we're definitely RED NECKS for this picture. My cousin Kristi lost half of her finger when she was a little girl in the chain of a bicycle. Now there is just a nub there and Hooper thought it was the greatest thing EVER! He loved to suck on it. Of course we all thought it was hilarious!

My little sweetheart sporting his warm Christmas hat again.

Hooper got the hang of unwrapping presents very quickly. Like he's was born to open them! His Aut and Sue-Sue gave him his first Tonka. He's just a little small yet for it, but it's one of them that you can push, then ride on then walk behind. Really cool! As you can tell he wants it NOW!!!!

This picture is a little out of order. This is him opening his Tonka toy.

His cousin Kinslee loved "the baby." Look at Hooper's cool new back pack. He loves to fill it with his toys and go to his Aut and Sue-Sue's.

Our little family! I'm so blessed!!!!!

Hooper needed a little swingin' to let Christmas dinner settle. We forgot his swing when we went to Tennessee for Christmas and oh how he (and I) missed it! It was good to finally get to Aut and Sue-Sue where at least he got to swing in his travel swing.

My brothers and me doing See No Evil, Hear No Evil and Speak No Evil. As you can see I got a little confused and did a little of all three for some reason. And yes that is Hooper's pacifier in my mouth....I'm still not sure about that one either.

Ma, Hooper's other Great Grandmother, getting some Hooper love!

Aut got this really cool headband with reindeer heads on it. Of course Hooper loved it. His "toy" Aut, wearing a toy just for him. Life is good!

Aparently we were not feeding him fast enough so he decided to just eat his high chair.

Time for a Christmas Eve bath. Since he mastered sitting up he's much easier to bathe in the kitchen sink.

Now that he's clean, it's off to bed. Night, night!
