Watching Mickey

Hooper has really become a TV buff...well he'd be more of one if I let him. His favorite 2 shows are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Imagination Movers on Disney. He'll climb up in the chair, grab the remote control and start saying either "Mimmie" (Mickey Mouse) or "Moo moo" (Movers). Here he is GLUED to the TV over a few days. (don't worry he's only allowed one in the morning, and one in the afternoon, so it's not as bad as it looks). He's trying to look around me at the TV while I'm trying to take his picture.
Another lovely matching outfit, ha.

For special treats he'll get to watch one while eating. Notice the foot on the table again. Now this is kicked back.

I ordered diapers off the internet and the boys LOVED playing on the box for days. They even watched TV on it.
And yes, Hooper is holding his "mop mop" while watching Mickey.

I've never thought about chewing on my mop before, but apparently they're good!

Do Child Labor Laws Apply Here?

My parents gave us 3 trees last week and to Dee planted them Monday. Well although Hooper was too small to dig and plant, he was just the right size to water the newly planted trees and he LOVED it!
He took his job VERY seriously!

I love the smile on his face.

Our neighbor stopped by to chat and Hooper had to tell him "bye" as he left.

Update on his BIG BOY Bed

Dee is getting closer and closer to being done with Hooper's bed. Here are some of the latest photos.

It doesn't look it here, but Hooper is very excited about his bed!
Please know that we do have cute clothes we dress Hooper in. For some reason it seems I just take pictures of him in the worst outfits, ugh!
Giving it the ol' check out.
" Yep, I think it's going to work"
If I knew Dee was this handy I would have married him YEARS ago, ha!

Licking Beaters for the First Time

Yesterday I made mashed potatoes (with cauliflower hidden in them...shhhh) and I decided to let the boys lick the beaters. This was a first for Hooper and he LOVED it!
I promise William does smile at our house...just not when the camera is around.

He's saying "cheese" here...while showing me the beater he's so proud of.

I made them sit down to eat but Hoop kept wanting to get up. So this is his protest sitting position.
He had a blow out earlier so he's just in a diaper. I can't remember why I didn't put more pants on him...ugh pregnancy brain!

I love those Big Blue EYES!!!
This boy went to town. Yummy!

Yes I know I posted 14 pictures of the same thing...Hooper licking a beater, but I just can't help myself. Believe it or not I took way more than 14, these were just the cutest. I'm in awe of these bloggers that can just post 1 picture of an event.

Milestones

Last night we had two major milestones with Hooper. First, we went to Costco after dinner and were gone about an hour maybe 1 1/2 hr and when we got home Hooper still had a dry diaper. It was bath time so I undressed him and went to the bathroom to get his "bubbles" started. The little naked jay bird backed up to his potty, sat down on it and just about filled it up! I was so surprised that I started yelling for Dee, which scared Hooper. Anyhow he did it...and all by himself! We are so proud!

The next milestone is the sweetest! Every night Dee gets Hooper ready for bed in his PJ's, then hands him to me and we sit in the rocker while Dee sits on the ottoman, we hold hands and we say our prayers. Well last night Dee had put Hooper in Dee's favorite PJ's, his Mickey Mouse jammies (I'll post photos later) and Dee said "oh I won't get to see him running around in his Mickey's, and he's just so cute, do you mind if he just runs around for a minute so I can watch him?" Of course I agreed. So Hooper was running around playing in his room then tried to dart out of his door. Dee called him back and told him it was bed time and to come back in that we needed to say our prayers. Much to our surprise Hooper walked to the ottoman, got on his knees, laid his hands flat on top of one another and laid his forehead on them. Dee and I looked at each other in amazement and Dee said "well I guess this is how we're going to pray tonight." So Dee and I joined Hooper on our knees by the ottoman, Dee began to pray and Hooper kept his head bowed the entire prayer. Now mind you, we have NEVER prayed like this and Hooper has NEVER seen it done, so we have NO idea where he got it...other than God. It just sent chills through both Dee and me. My little prayer warrior! I'm such a proud Mommy!

Froggy Potty

Lately Hooper has been telling us when he's gone "poo poo" and when he also points to his "tee tee" diapers in the mornings and tells us about them too. So we thought we'd get a potty and just see what he does. Well at first he wasn't too sure about it, but night before last when I was running his "bubbles" he started saying "tee tee" and trying to sit on his potty full dressed. We took his bottoms off and he sat down and actually tinkled a few drops. We're so excited. We are not pushing the issue but just letting him go at his own speed. Here are some shots (non-revealing) of his 2nd time on the potty, last night. We were too excited and unprepared to catch the first time, sorry!
Is this the cutest potty ever? I wish they made them for grown ups! I sure could use one beside our bed lately for the million trips to the bathroom all night, ha!

Hooper's new NON-girly kitchen

As much as Hooper LOVES to help me in the kitchen I thought he'd enjoy a kitchen of his own. But I wasn't sure how I was going to convince Dee of this. Well as luck would have it, this past weekend we were at Wal-Mart and they had them marked down from $45 to $20! So with a little convincing I finally got Dee to agree to it. I initially said we could put it up for his birthday (in July) but the more we walked around the store with it, Dee said "I'm not having my son unwrap a kitchen at his birthday party...this can just be a present just because." With that said the kitchen was given to Hooper just for being a good boy that night.
Here's the nice friendly picture of our kitchen:And here's what it looked like when we took it out. Now we know why it was marked down, ha!A million pieces is an understatement!!
As if Dee wasn't thrilled enough with the kitchen now he gets to assemble this mess!
But with help from me and especially Hooper things got moving.

This boy is just like is Daddy and Papaw! Loves, loves, loves tools and building things!

Using his spatula to pick up the trash.
So serious!
It's coming together nicely. Have I ever mentioned how glad I am that I married an engineer? It takes one to put together kids toys!
Oh Hooper's getting even more excited now!
Look how pretty and non-pink his kitchen is. That was the one requirement from Dee. He said if it was pink at all it was going back!
Thanks Honey! Hooper and I love you!!!!
