Milestones and of course more FUN with Hooper

Last week was full of Milestones in Hooper's life. For starters he is now bottle free! Yippee. Yes he finally did it, completely moved to a cup! That was on Wednesday, then on Thursday we stopped rocking him to sleep at night. Now he gets a bed time story while we hold him then it's off to his crib. The first few nights we would stand there and rub his back and/or hum to him and it worked great. Now we're trying to get him to go to sleep with us still in the room, just sitting in the rocker but not rubbing his back or standing by the crib. Not as successful I must say. But we're NOT giving up. It's about an hour cry fest now but he will eventually give it up. Don't freak out Grandparents! He's a big boy and we must teach him to go to sleep on his own. (As much as I miss rocking him!!) Also new as you'll see in pictures below Dee had to lower Hooper's crib to the lowest setting. He discovered he could throw his leg up to the top rail and was starting to try to crawl out. I don't know what we'll do when he out grows this...I guess it'll be big boy bed time then. Ok, let's not talk about that. I'll get weepy!
On to the fun....Dee taught Hooper how to wear and hold his baseball glove. He looks like a natural. If you haven't been around Hooper much you don't know that he LOVES the cartoon "Go Diego Go." So I found this cool backpack at Wal-Mart and he fell in love with it. It's bigger than him but he doesn't mind. This is now his new diaper bag. Just a random cute picture of him.
Yes we still love our broom!

We have such a good boy. Sunday night he kept dragging out his "Jesus" book, his "God Made Us" book, and his Jesus doll..or "Deeduh" as Hooper calls it. We were cracking up. I guess he knew it was Sunday and wanted to get more of God that day, even though we had been to church and Sunday School. That's another prayer request...he HATES the nursery. He's ok as long as we're in there, but the second we leave it's cry city. The director over our whole nursery hall has to hold him or put him on the carrier and push him the entire morning to keep him calm. Mrs. Paula and Mrs. Konda are life savers. Any other kid they would just page the parents, but for some reason they love Hooper...fits and all.
You push "Deeduh's" back and he says Biblical stories and verses. Very cool!
Dee is such a good Daddy!
Funny story: The other day I was cleaning the tub in our bathroom and Hooper kept wanting to get in and play in the water. Of course it had cleaner in it so I couldn't let him in. So once it was all clean and I was running clean water in it to wash it out it hear this "clunk". The stinker had went to my make up drawer, got out the loose powder bronzer without a lid and tossed it into the tub. You can only imagine the mess it made. That was harder to clean up than the original cleaning. So anyhow that night we decided to let him take a bath in our "big" tub. Not to reward his "bronzing" but just as a fun time. These next pictures are of Dee lowering Hooper's bed Sunday night and Hooper helping. Sorry for so many but I just think they're all too precious. Another one of Hooper's favorite toys is his Diaper Champ. Last week he threw a ball in there without us knowing so when I bagged up the garbage and set it outsite Dee asked me why Hooper's Diego ball was in the diaper trash.....we finally figured out what must have happened. Here Hooper is throwing Daddy's tools into the Diaper Champ.
Dee kept trying to get behind the bed to work on it but Hooper wouldn't let him go first. So finally Hooper just went under Dee. Looks like the race was on.
"Hi Mommy, I'm helping Daddy."
If only Hooper knew beforehand just exactly what he was helping Daddy do, he might not have chosen to help him, ha.
Blue Eyes!

I understand the plyers, but the nasal aspirator...hmmm. That's very interesting.

" Weee, my new bed!!!"
