Trip to Ma's House

Two weeks ago Dee had to go to Tucson for the week so Hooper and I headed to my parents. While there we spent one day at Ma's and had a wonderful time!!!
Here's Hooper and Ma sharing some quality time together.
She went to the store room to get Hooper a stick horse but while in there look what he found. "Forget the stick horse, give me that broom!"
I'm in the back yard and Hooper's in the front playing with the men. He looks like he's in prison here. I pray this is the closest to prison he ever gets!!!Great Uncle John John got the red wagon out and Hooper was thrilled!

Great Aunt Connie Kay thinks Hooper's broom fascination is too funny!

I thought this was a wonderful picture of Ma! Can you believe she's turning 80 in October?
She sure doesn't look it!
Another beautiful photo of Ma!Hooper still playing with his broom.Ma was trying to get Hooper to play with her but the only way she could get his attention was of course with the broom. Ugh My child!
She even tried to get him interested in Woody.
She finally found something other than the broom to get his interest....the weather radio. He is just like his Daddy!
Great Aunt Connie Kay is tickeled again! Too sweet!

After school Marla, Kaytie Jane and Maggie came to visit. Look at the teeth on this poor child. Red Necks, ha! Just kididng, they're those Bubba Teeth inserts.
I love this picture of Marla and Maggie. Happy 1st Birthday Maggie. She just celebrated her big day on Sept 21!
If you haven't noticed, Hooper really got attached to Great Aunt Connie Kay. I don't think she minded.
Terrible picture of me, but I like it because I have both Maggie and Hooper sitting with me at the same time. These two are 2 1/2 months apart.

I think they're planning out their escape.
At the end of all the fun Hooper was exhausted and needed some Oga love. He was asleep in no time laying on his shoulder.
Is this pure innocence or what?
We had a wonderful time at Ma's.
I'll post more pictures of our trip to Mom and Dad's house later.
Have a GREAT day!

Mornings with Hooper

Here are some photos of our mornings over the past week or so.
Hooper was playing with my shower cap so I thought it would be cute to put it on him. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my son, but to say he's clingy is a HUGE understatement, especially this week!! So in order to get ready in the mornings I have to put him in our bath tub with some toys. This works for about 2-3 minutes then he's ready to get out. Thankfully he can't quiet achieve that success yet. I don't know what I'll do when he's able to actually get out. Ugh I'll have to come up with a new plan.

Do you remember the "road block" I put up last week in front of our bedroom TV unit? Well since it didn't work this morning I tried to put up on of his gates long vertically in front of it. I felt for sure I had him this time.....

Forget "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" I can't out smart a 14 month old!
Last weekend Dee was feeding Hooper breakfast and I noticed that he would give him an entire banana to hold and eat by himself. I was amazed! Dee said he'd done it before and Hooper does great with it. When I had tried it in the past Hooper would grab the mushy part of the banana and squish it between his fingers. So this week I thought "well if Dee's got him to do this, surely I can too." Ha, was I wrong. The two bites he ate by himself for me consisted of 1) a bite out of the banana peel and 2) eating the hard black stem on the bottom and making a terrible face. After that he would not touch the rest of the banana. I just can't figure it out....how does Dee get him to do things I can not?
See what I'm talking about? Eating the bottom black stem. YUCK!
Nonetheless, he's cute eating it either way!

I hope everyones mornings are as fun as ours are!

Clean teeth are VERY important!

When you have 13 teeth it is very important that you brush well. Hooper has fallen in love with Dee's toothbrush and loves to brush his teeth with it (even though it is pink, ha.)

Just like Dee (and Craig), he CANNOT stand still, even while brushing his teeth.
He is cute even when he's brushing his teeth. That's talent!
"Did I get them all Mom?"
Happy Dental Health everyone!

When it rains it pours...literally!

It happens to everyone I know, but in the past 6 or so weeks it seems like we're the target. Everything in our house has either broken or something has gone wrong with it. And to say the least, we're tired of it!!! Here's a quick run down: First of all our garage door broke so we had to buy a new one, then we lost the last baby, the receiver on the entainment unit in the living room went out and is now in the shop being repaired, our wireless internet stopped working and Dee can't figure out what went wrong or how to fix it, the vaccum cleaner jammed up (thankfull Dee was able to fix this without any $ being spent), our alarm on the house has a light that started flashing that we cannot figure out why and now it beeps all night, the grill will not light anymore, and last week when Hurricane Ike came through our window and wall in the kitchen started leaking (see photos below). But the good news is we are all healthy and no harm has been seriously done other than to our bank account, ha! Ok, I'm done venting now. On to some Hooper pictures.

He loves to play in the cabinets (and yes I let him). But look how cute he is when he does it!Could you turn down those big blue eyes?Recently he discovered our Engagement photo on the end table and loves it. He points to Dee and says "Daddy" over and over. I can't get him to realize that I'm in it too.So today he decided he wanted to play with our picture for a while.
Maybe he was missing Dee since he was at work.
A picture looks so different from this angle.

He's running toward me so it's a little blurry. It's hard to catch him still now days.

I love him in foooted jammies. This looks very difficult to get up like this. He even looks like he's struggling a bit.
His Daddy is so proud. Check out the Tiger Woods in the making. Maybe we should loose the pacifier before he goes pro.Hooper is also mezmorized with buttons especially if they light up. Any button on the television is an instant magnet to him so I put up a road block (or so I thought) to the television and DVR in the bedroom. The suitcase he is standing on WAS standing up before he got to it. But now it just serves as a stepping stool. At least he's not a quitter! Once he gets his mind on something....watch out world because like it or not, he's going to get it!

Here's photos of our wonderful down pour last week I mentioned earlier.
My poor husband. As if he doesn't work hard enough during the week. He then get's to deal with this stuff when he gets home.

I guess I can't complain too much. The poor folks on the coast got it MUCH WORSE than we could ever think about. Always look for the silver lining, right?

Speaking of silver linings how's this picture to end the blog? I promise we did not stage this. The other night Dee came in after he checked in on Hooper and and told me I had to go look at him. This is what I found. Dreaming of football I guess! What a good boy!!!
See there's always a silver lining!
